The Fibreglass Pool Installation Process
Survey the property for the Swimming Pool
Prior to installation, we conduct a thorough examination of your property including identifying the slope, soil type and anything that may cause issues. We also check fences, trees, tree stumps, sprinklers and utilities. We check access to the pool site so that we can manoeuvre our equipment onto the block. We need a clear, unobstructed path between the road and the swimming pool site. If this is not possible than a larger crane may be required. If this is needed, any obstructions for the crane will need to be taken into consideration including overhead power lines, trees etc. Also, the driveway will need to be strong enough to take the crane’s weight. Alternative access points to your property may also be taken into account.
Identifying the pool location
To give you an accurate idea of where the pool will be situated, a pool pattern matching your chosen pool is laid down in your backyard. This will enable you to actually see the pool on the property and make sure you are happy with the size, shape and location. Access to the yard, filter equipment location, any issues etc. will all be assessed.
This visit is very important to insure that all will proceed smoothly when we arrive at your home with heavy equipment to start the excavation.
Excavate the Swimming Pool Hole
On the day of the excavation please make sure there are no cars parked in front of your home and if we are using your driveway as access, keep that accessible as well. This will ensure the installation of your swimming pool will start without delays. The excavation is closely monitored and checked with laser measurements to ensure that it matches the requirements for your pool. A trench is dug along the side of the swimming pool for the pipes to the pump station
Excavations can usually be completed in one day. Large fibreglass pools or jobs requiring re-handling of dirt can take longer.
Crane the Swimming Pool into position
Using our crane we manoeuvre your fibreglass pool into position and carefully lower it into the prepared base. Any final adjustments are made to the swimming pools position in the ground to ensure that it is correctly positioned and leveled.
Backfill the Swimming Pool
After the plumbing work is completed, dirt will be backfilled around the pool whilst the pool is filled with water. This is done to ensure equal pressure and maintain stability during the backfilling process. The pool will also be thoroughly checked for leaks. Backfilling swimming pools generally takes about 4 hours depending on the size of the pool.
Preparing the Steel Reinforced Structural Bond Beam
Steel reinforced structural bond beam is prepared around the outside of the pool.
Pour the Structural Concrete Bond Beam
The structural concrete bond beam is poured around the swimming pool.
Lay Paving around the Swimming Pool
Paving stones are laid around the outside of the swimming pool, as well as any other finishing touches and landscaping.
